This essay intends to illustrate the main differences between Bruno and Montaigne with respect to the subject of folly. Whereas Bruno considers the ‘heroic frenzy’ as the way of access to truth in a infinite universe, Montaigne is very cautious toward this kind of position; Montaigne, instead, adopts a skeptical way which is entirely alien to Bruno’s view.
