Aim of this article is to propose a reading of Raimbaut d’Aurenga’s song Ab nou cor et ab nou talen (BdT 389,1), by highlighting its main themes. Playing on the repetition of key concepts, in the succession of coblas, as ‘nou’, ‘novel’, ‘amar’, ‘rire’, ‘gaug’, ‘domna’, Raimbaut allows us to identify a logical development that culminates in midons and her laughter, passing through the theme of the new (so intrinsically linked to the theme of love, which immediately follows). The stages of the sequence permit to compare this text not so much with Dante’s Vita Nova (as was done earlier), but with a passage from Pd XXVII (103-105). Here, in fact, Beatrice’s laughter is compared to God’s laughter, with a peculiar coincidence with Ab nou cor (29-35).

Abstract
Here, in fact, Beatrice’s laughter is compared to God’s laughter, with a peculiar coincidence with Ab nou cor (29-35).File | Dimensione | Formato | |
