Ni Una Menos (Not one less) is a global feminist and transfeminist movement focused on gender-based violence as a structural dimension of contemporary capitalist and neoliberal society. The movement first rose in Argentina on 3 June 2015, when hundreds of marches took place in response to the femicide of Chiara Paez, a 14-year-old woman murdered by her boyfriend. Beginning in Latin America in 2015, Ni Una Menos triggered a new wave of global feminist mobilization. The movement has a transnational character, adopts an intersectional frame, includes different generations, and makes use of innovative repertoires of action. Furthermore, it is characterized by the extensive use of social media. Ni Una Menos denounces violence, femicides, and the ongoing mistreatment of women and LGBTQ subjects, while pursuing social change through mass mobilization and micro-level organization.
