The paper proposes a reading of Sannazaro's canzone 41, Or son pur solo e non è chi mi ascolti. In the first place, it deals with some questions related to the linguistic and stylistic variants delivered by the tradition of the text, aimed at aligning it in substance to Petrarch's model and gradually eliminating the traces of the late fifteenth-century Aragonese koine. Then the paper focuses on the metrical and structural features of the poem, arriving in this way to the analysis of the argumentative processes and the interpretation of the thematic contents. Finally, a derivative chain is proposed with respect to two other songs that present the same metrical scheme, namely the 207 of Rerum vulgarium fragmenta, Ben mi credea passar mio tempo omai, and the VIII of Endimione, the canzoniere of Cariteo, which is in effect the main companion of Sannazaro in the last season of Aragonese Petrarchism, between the fifteenth and sixteenth century.

Abstract
The paper proposes a reading of Sannazaro's canzone 41, Or son pur solo e non è chi mi ascolti. In the first place, it deals with some questions related to the linguistic and stylistic variants delivered by the tradition of the text, aimed at aligning it in substance to Petrarch's model and gradually eliminating the traces of the late fifteenth-century Aragonese koine. Then the paper focuses on the metrical and structural features of the poem, arriving in this way to the analysis of the argumentative processes and the interpretation of the thematic contents. Finally, a derivative chain is proposed with respect to two other songs that present the same metrical scheme, namely the 207 of Rerum vulgarium fragmenta, Ben mi credea passar mio tempo omai, and the VIII of Endimione, the canzoniere of Cariteo, which is in effect the main companion of Sannazaro in the last season of Aragonese Petrarchism, between the fifteenth and sixteenth century.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
