Pisa, città di pianura : dinamiche di formazione di un paesaggio tra età ellenistica, romana e tardo-antica

The city of Pisa stands on a floodplain characterized by strong water instability and a complex river system. Environmental features and long continuity of life have contributed to outline settlement choices andenvironmental transformations, in a relationship of mutual conditioning. In this paper, the archaeological andlandscape context of the city of Pisa and its neighboring territory is re-examined between the Hellenistic, Romanand Late Antique periods through GIS-based spatial analysis and a new theoretical perspective
