The Baths ‘of Nero’ in Pisa has captured the interest of scholars mainly for its Roman-period phases. Extensive excavations in the 1940s, which led to the creation of an archaeological area, completely overlooked evidence from the Late Antique and Early Medieval periods. Conversely, the most recent excavations in 2017, despite their limited spatial extent, demonstrated interest in these later phases. As a result, the available data for this period are currently sparse and fragmentary. This paper aims to systematically present these data, highlight related topics, and outline future research directions.

Abstract
The Baths ‘of Nero’ in Pisa has captured the interest of scholars mainly for its Roman-period phases. Extensive excavations in the 1940s, which led to the creation of an archaeological area, completely overlooked evidence from the Late Antique and Early Medieval periods. Conversely, the most recent excavations in 2017, despite their limited spatial extent, demonstrated interest in these later phases. As a result, the available data for this period are currently sparse and fragmentary. This paper aims to systematically present these data, highlight related topics, and outline future research directions.File in questo prodotto:
