The Transformation of the Systematic Role of the Phenomenology of Spirit in the Philosophy of Subjective Spirit

My paper is divided into two main parts. After a short introduction where I anticipate my thesis, in the first part I want to dwell on the structural changes in the organization of Hegel’s system regarding the Phenomenology of Spirit after 1807. Here I cannot presume to add much that is original. I give a comprehensive recapitulation of some familiar key points, but in view of the consequences I will draw in Part 2. There I want to show that those changes are substantial and by no means secondary, as if they were concerned with the external arrangement of an otherwise similar argument. Part 2 will discuss the consequences of the reshuffling of the Phenomenology of Spirit for the problem of consciousness and self-consciousness as they have an impact on the I, das Ich.
