The BABAR and Belle B-factories, which ended data-taking in the recent years, have analysed large samples of tau pairs produced in e(+)e(-) annihilations at and around the gamma(4S) peak to test the Standard Model and to search for signs of New Physics. With the goal of producing 100 times larger tau pairs samples, the proposed SuperB Super Flavor Factory will provide several unique opportunities to verify the Standard Model and to look for signs of theories beyond it.
