Sometimes in his writings Plutarch refers to representations of myths, not to the myths themselves. In this paper the case of Ocnus is analysed, in order to understand the meanings Plutarch gives to this representation, his personal way of appropriating it, how his judgement finds comparisons both in the archaeological evidence and in the thoughts of his contemporaries.
