The article examines the Mythiambus 117 of Babrius, attested both by medieval manuscripts and by the ancient tabulae ceratae Assendelftianae of Palmyra. This study tries to revaluate the ancient tradition: at line 9 of the Mythiambus the word νύξας can thus be regarded as an ancient variant.
