Lines 777-778 of Aeneids' books 5, which describe the Trojan ships' departure from Sicily, are transmitted in reverse order by some virgilian manuscripts. Comparison with the homeric model of Od. 12.144-50, where the same formular sequence occurs, strongly supports the order given by 'codex Palatinus', in which line 778 precedes line 777.

Abstract
Lines 777-778 of Aeneids' books 5, which describe the Trojan ships' departure from Sicily, are transmitted in reverse order by some virgilian manuscripts. Comparison with the homeric model of Od. 12.144-50, where the same formular sequence occurs, strongly supports the order given by 'codex Palatinus', in which line 778 precedes line 777.File in questo prodotto:
