Cremona sul Danubio. Primi sguardi su una manciata di disegni del Cinquecento a Bratislava

In the drawings collection of the Slovenskà Nàrodnà Galéria in Bratislava is a notewor-thy group of Cremonese drawings from the Cinquecento, mostly attributable to the workshop of Giulio Campi, which until now has escaped the attention of art historians. The article presents this material and focuses in particular on some of the sheets, so as to con-textualize them in the careers of the artists involved. Ultimately, this is an occasion to explore in depth the graphic process in prepa-ration to some of the most important artistic enterprises of 16th-century Cremona (from the churches of Sant'Agata and San Sigismondo to the decorative structures made for Charles V's entrance into Cremona in 1541).
