Semantiche della servitù e dell'obbedienza : da La Boétie a Charron

This paper aims to examine the influence of Étienne de La Boétie’s Discours de la servitude volontaire on Pierre Charron. The Author analyzes the similarities between these two Authors’ lexical use, also taking into account Michel de Montaigne’s fundamental mediation role. A direct influence of La Boétie’s concepts of servitude and slavery on Charron can thus be detected; and their respective concepts of wisdom and wise man can be compared on the basis of their similarities.
