Arcesilaus and Numenius: some notes on fr. 25 des Places (= Eus.Praep. Ev. XIV, 5, 12-13 Des Places). This article focuses on three textual notes on Numenius fr. 25 Des Places, 15-21: 1) it postulates that the sequence ὧν ὑπὸ μὲν Κράντορος πιθανουργικός,ὑπὸ Διοδώρου δὲ σοφιστής, ὑπὸ δὲ Πύρρωνος is affected by a lacune whichcontained a reference to Theophrastus; 2) then it suggests the reading οὐδὲν<ὁρίζων. δι>ὸ in the very probably corrupted and much-disputed passageἐγένετο παντοδαπὸς καὶ ἴτης καὶ οὐδὲν. ὃ καὶ ἐλέγετο κτλ.; 3) fi nally it proposesto read ἐγένετο instead of ἐλέγετο in the previous passage.
