Strategies to empower citizens against the ecological crisis through anti-carbon actions have been strongly criticized by the climate movement that emerged in 2018. However, activists have not abandoned these ecological practices. In this article, we show that their engagement in daily life is particularly structured by gender and political radicalism. Everyday ecological practices are multifaceted and correspond to different logics. While for the most moderate activists it is a matter of pointing out the right thing to do, for the most radical ones these practices translate, without any strategic significance being attached to them, their social critique into everyday life and fuel collective commitment.

Abstract
Strategies to empower citizens against the ecological crisis through anti-carbon actions have been strongly criticized by the climate movement that emerged in 2018. However, activists have not abandoned these ecological practices. In this article, we show that their engagement in daily life is particularly structured by gender and political radicalism. Everyday ecological practices are multifaceted and correspond to different logics. While for the most moderate activists it is a matter of pointing out the right thing to do, for the most radical ones these practices translate, without any strategic significance being attached to them, their social critique into everyday life and fuel collective commitment.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
