«Io ho in Lei la massima fiducia» : la correspondance entre Franz Cumont et Raffaele Pettazzoni

This article contains the previously unpublished correspondence between Franz Cumont and Raffaele Pettazzoni, two great historians of religions, the former fifteen years older than the latter. Their dialogue spans more than 80 messages between 1921 and 1947. Various subjects are discussed: their publications and scientific projects, academic issues (prizes, appointments, etc.) and the turbulent inter-war period. It is also a valuable account of a crucial period in the development of the history of religion.
