This article aims to reconstruct the history of the Ente Vicentini nel Mondo and its clubs abroad. Founded in March 1966, the association represented – and still seeks to represent – an important reference point for thousands of emigrants from Vicenza and its province. The contribution especially dwells on the analysis of the circles around the world. Firstly, it describes the motivations behind their establishment; secondly, it examines their assistance, recreational and cultural activities through the study of three model circles (Buenos Aires, Mondelange, Melbourne); thirdly, it considers the issues they have faced over the last years and how those have led to an evolution in the association’s identity.
