Abstract
In Callimachus, h. Dian. 239, the words φηγῶι ὑπὸ πρέμνωι have been variously explained, and sometimes suspected of corruption. This paper argues that the transmitted text is sound and the peculiar expression is modeled on the Homeric νηὶ παρὰ πρύμνηι (H 383 etc.) and νηὶ δ' ἐνὶ πρύμνηι (K 570 etc.).File in questo prodotto:
