Nota su due terrecotte architettoniche dal Museo Archeologico Regionale «Pietro Griffo»

The essay focuses on an architectural terracotta exhibited at the «Pietro Griffo» Archaeological Museum in Agrigento and aims to clarify its provenance by consulting the museum’s inventories and archives. The artefact is similar to another of uncertain provenance: both architectural elements are kalypteres hegemones of the roof of a sacred building from the Archaic period in the city of Akragas (late 6th - early 5th century BC). The addendum on the two artefacts aims to correctly define their use and location and ends by suggesting a reconstruction of the roof of the sacred building.

Il contributo presenta una terracotta architettonica esposta al Museo Archeologico «Pietro Griffo» di Agrigento e mira a chiarirne la provenienza attraverso la consultazione degli inventari e degli archivi del museo. Il manufatto è simile a un altro di provenienza incerta: entrambi gli elementi architettonici sono kalypteres hegemones del tetto di un edificio sacro di epoca arcaica della città di Akragas (fine del VI – inizi del V secolo a.C.). L'addendum sui due manufatti mira a definirne correttamente l'uso e la collocazione e propone infine una ricostruzione del tetto dell'edificio sacro.
