The scriptio superior of a palimpsest flyleaf of the codex Vat. gr. 1307 transmits a hitherto unpublished treatise on metrics and grammar, which was produced by an anonymous compiler probably in Constantinople during the Paleologan Age. The article aims to present an edition and a translation of the text and to shed light on its genesis and sources; the two main sources of the treatise can be identified with John Doxapatres’ Homiliae in Aphthonium, whose textual tradition has been little investigated, and with Georgius Cheroboscus’ treatise on tropes.

Abstract
The scriptio superior of a palimpsest flyleaf of the codex Vat. gr. 1307 transmits a hitherto unpublished treatise on metrics and grammar, which was produced by an anonymous compiler probably in Constantinople during the Paleologan Age. The article aims to present an edition and a translation of the text and to shed light on its genesis and sources; the two main sources of the treatise can be identified with John Doxapatres’ Homiliae in Aphthonium, whose textual tradition has been little investigated, and with Georgius Cheroboscus’ treatise on tropes.File in questo prodotto:
