Frammenti leopardiani : due casi di studio inediti, o quasi

After a brief introduction made to highlight the methodological advantages of a new revaluation of some areas of the Leopardi’s corpus such as fragments and drafts, this essay proposes the edition of two autographs, taken from the collection x.12 of the National Library of Naples, accompanied by a description, a wide comment and a proposal of dating for both of them. In the first one, the analysis shows the Leopardi’s intention to study a Greek code containing an unpublished history of the life of Alexander the Great, finalized on its edition; on the other hand, in the second one, instead, the study traces the Leopardi’s project, which was never given up by him, a Comparazione degli antichi e dei moderni based on an annotation taken from a book by Louis Dutens. In conclusion, the result of this study aims to restore full autonomy to autographs whose cultural wealth and literary importance can spark interest on the Leopardi’s production.
