The archaeological report presents the results of the 2023 campaign in the sanctuary of Temple D at Agrigento. The first section focuses on the trench on the western side of the temple: thanks to this research, it is now possible to understand the technique and the process of construction of the stereobates and to better define the chronology of this phase. The second section presents the most recent fragments of pottery found in the bomos of the altar during the 2020-23 campaigns and reassesses the chronology of the monumentalization of the area and the building activities within the sanctuary. The archaeological evidence allows us to conclude that the temple and the altar are chronologically contemporary and part of a single building project.
