Some glyptic samples, belonged to Grimani collection, were represented in prints by Battista Franco, usually known with the tide of 'Antiqui Camei', and were described by the Grimani inventories; nonetheless, they have not been recovered yet. This article presents the hypothesis that some of them may be not ancient, but realized in Modern Age, drawing inspiration from antiquities scattered in Rome or in other places at the end of the fifteenth and the beginning of the sixteenth century. Two cases are deeply discussed: first, a scene with two women celebrating the sacrifice of a cock; second, the figure of a boar, singular for the presence of a kind of sash.

Two cases are deeply discussed: first, a scene with two women celebrating the sacrifice of a cock; second, the figure of a boar, singular for the presence of a kind of sash.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
