The problem of “error” is contemplated by Montaigne obliquely and with a focus on two poles: the epistemological one and the moral one – as well as with some nuances and transfers of meaning. The first pole is concerned with the concept of science and method, the second with the ethical claim. However, another shift is also produced from the epistemic level to the moral one. The error originates from the incapability to confess our own ignorance, this being the authentic face of science.

Abstract
The problem of “error” is contemplated by Montaigne obliquely and with a focus on two poles: the epistemological one and the moral one – as well as with some nuances and transfers of meaning. The first pole is concerned with the concept of science and method, the second with the ethical claim. However, another shift is also produced from the epistemic level to the moral one. The error originates from the incapability to confess our own ignorance, this being the authentic face of science.File in questo prodotto:
