Aesthetics represents a crucial area when discussing naturalization. This paper gives a brief overview of the various positions in the debate and pinpoints the reasons for the conflicting views in an internalist model of mind connected to radical reductionism. We are convinced that a solution can be found by adopting a moderate form of anthropological naturalism and a model of aesthetic cognition where innate efficiency is complemented by culturally structured differentiated behaviors.
