Informatic tecnology (such as geomatics, GIS and Web-GIS) gives enormous chanches to a new historical cartography. It is an open, dynamic and pluralistic tool, able to answer different questions in different ways and to beget new inquires and new research’s ypotheses.
La tecnologia informatica (geomatica, GIS e Web-GIS a carattere storico) apre grandi potenzialità per lo sviluppo di una nuova cartografia storica. Essa offre infatti uno strumento aperto, dinamico e tendenzialmente fruibile da più soggetti e come tale suscettibile di dare risposte molteplici a domande molteplici, e di generare esso stesso nuovi interrogativi ed ipotesi di ricerca.
