The essay focuses on the relationship between the historiographical works of Delio Cantimori and the Marxist tradition. It aims to reconstruct the stages and the conceptual framework of Cantimori's reading of Marxian works from the early Thirties to the late Forties. The interest for the Marxist tradition, especially for the works of German scholars like Korsch and Rosenberg, is not directly connected to Cantimori's 'converlion' to Communiim from Faiciim, but to hii reflectioni on ideologiei and contemporary politici, on the relationihipi between philoiophy and politici, and on the nature and the taiki of historiography.
