The present essay aims to trace a point of possible convergence between two authors as Jacob Taubes and Carl Schmitt to start from their Gegenstrebige Fügung and from their remarks relating to the question of the sovereignty. A strong opposition exists between the concept of Taubes éschaton and Schmitt's katèchon, which creates a dualism in which the foundation of a new order of discourse clash with a power that want to conserve itself. It is in this dualism between éschaton and katèchon that the sovereignty could be find his own definition through the articulation of these two different times: the time of foundation and the time of conservation. The aim of this essay is to research this possible conjunction though a point of convergence in these two authors, that is the concept of the leap in Taubes and the question of sovereign decision in Schmitt. Both reveal themselves as two sides of the same coin and in this convergence we can find a possible articulation between the two distinct times of the sovereignty. The premise of this connection stays in the contingency that permits the leap as the decision and also institutes the modern concept of the subject. It is this contingency that establishes the place where a convergence between éschaton and katèchon can be identified. A place that is an empty space in which the necessity and the freedom, the universal and the particular, can articulate themselves together.

Abstract
A place that is an empty space in which the necessity and the freedom, the universal and the particular, can articulate themselves together.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
