The paper analyses some interesting cases of doctrinal divergence between the text of al-Ġazālī's "Maqāṣid al-falāsifa" [Intentions/Doctrines of the Philosophers] and that of its Persian source, Avicenna's "Dānešnāme-ye ʿAlāʾī" [Book of Science for ʿAlāʾ-ad-Dawlā], showing that Ġazālī's philosophical work already displays the clear signs of a critical attitude towards the theoretical complex of the 'falsafa', and a distinct trend towards theological formulations, closer to Islamic religion and revelation.

Abstract
The paper analyses some interesting cases of doctrinal divergence between the text of al-Ġazālī's "Maqāṣid al-falāsifa" [Intentions/Doctrines of the Philosophers] and that of its Persian source, Avicenna's "Dānešnāme-ye ʿAlāʾī" [Book of Science for ʿAlāʾ-ad-Dawlā], showing that Ġazālī's philosophical work already displays the clear signs of a critical attitude towards the theoretical complex of the 'falsafa', and a distinct trend towards theological formulations, closer to Islamic religion and revelation.File in questo prodotto:
